LdL for training knowledge transfer competence
Posted by asecoli - September 21, 2010
At a conference of applied linguists a few days ago I presented LdL with the help of video clips from my own courses. The goal was to show that LdL is an effective and efficient method to provide students with competences in expert-expert communication and expert-layperson communication (in other words: knowledge transfer competence). For the first time a large group that consisted specifically of linguists acknowledged the positive effects of LdL in university teaching. Some people even explicitly told me afterwards that they are going to try out LdL in their courses. I’m eagerly waiting for their feedback.
